Riktor, an apparently ordinary, calm, and polite man, has worked at the Løkka nursing home for many years. However, when the opportunity arises, he torments the patients, pulling their hair and pouring their medications down the toilet. He leaves no traces, and the helpless elderly residents are unable to speak out about his actions, as Riktor carefully selects his targets. Everything changes when a patient's death raises the suspicion of murder. Riktor is a very lonely man who spends his free time sitting on a park bench, observing people. There, he meets Arnfinn, an old alcoholic sailor. Each man has something to offer the other, and everything goes well until Riktor sees Arnfinn stealing money from his wallet.
